Wonder flower!!!

Don't ask me what this is , I really don't know. I did ask the name when I bought it but I forgot it right away. I find this so funny and interesting. It looks like one mushroom Gyromitra esculenta and as you can see in close up it is kind of hairy so it feels like velvet. This is so inscrutable that I really want to show you all how creative nature can be. If someone knows the name or any information please do let me know so I can share it:)

  4. Nature is amazing, this is wonderful. It's quite other-worldly. (And like Elizabeth I was also thinking that it kind of reminded me of the contours of a brain)! :D

  5. I love cockscomb! My mother always used to grow it in her flower garden when I was young. A rainbow of colors are available and I think they are such an awesome plant. Great photos, Henrietta! :)

  20. I believe it's also in the same family as Love Lies Bleeding (one of my favorites). This one also comes in bright yellow and purple I think too. They look like brains to me, HA!

  29. Kuvasta palautuu mieleeni puisto, jossa vierailin Thaimaassa asuessani vuosia sitten. Siellä näitä oli isoina kasvustoina ja erisävyisinä. Häkellyttävä näky.
