Maanantai Blues

I know it is summer and we suppose to enjoy all colors (which I do) BUT I really like these toned pictures. I feel that you can see much clearly the shape or design of the flower and I do feel flower much stronger...do you understand what I'm trying to say!? Please don't ask me about it, this is just how I feel and can't explain it :)

  1. Dear Henrietta,
Don't worry, I won't ask why... :-) But I do agree with you! Despite being a fan of colours and loving many different flowers because of their colour injection, I absolutely love these photos, the lines, the details, the feel, the mood... The water drops in the second photo... gorgeous!

    Big hug from the UK,
    Helena

  2. I totally understand - that´s how I also can feel about faces in black and white pics; you see their features in a totally different way when not distracted by hair/skin/eye color. :-)

  3. Haha. No questions - no worries. And I agree: It's easy to be 'blinded' by the colours. So it's kind of easier to see the actual shape of the flower, when seeing these grey'ish photoes. I really like them.
And thanks so much for the reply about photoshop and lightroom. I think I'll start with photoshop elements, and take it from there. I can't wait to get started!
    Have a great week, Henrietta!

  4. I do understand what you are saying henrietta, and I do agree with you. There are just sometimes when a lack of color brings out the best in a flower. This is one of the reasons I like to work with white flowers on white backgrounds so much.

Both of these are just wonderful, but I think the second is my favorite.

Thank you so much for sharing these today at The Creative Exchange.

    Have a wonderful evening!

  9. You are right, we can see the shape and form of these flowers better with muted tones. Very lovely!

  12. Heissan!

  13. Well ...you see I would also say that your flowers colour are exactly the same as Irish weather today. Only 10C degrees in June! What a terrible joke.
    Flowers in blue are brilliant!

  14. Since seeing your frames the first time, I have been trying to use them. I am having trouble with the edges and figuring out how to erase the picture from them, but guess I will figure it out in time. I just love yours so much. These shots are especially nice. I am looking forward to seeing what goodie you have for us next week. Genie

  15. You did well with these, Henrietta! I would never have thought to desaturate, but it works!
Hope you are having a great day!

  17. I am a big fan of B &W and monochrome work. I understand what you are saying. There often seems the expectation that flowers should be in color, as they exhibit so many lovely hues. But, ironically flowers are amazing represented with little or no color. As you mention, then their delicate forms and intricate shapes stand out clearly. your images show this concept to perfection! Lovely.

  22. Olet oikeassa, pidän varsinkin tuosta alemmasta kuvasta. Sininen sävy jotenkin vahvistaa tunnelmaa.

  23. I don't know how you got that color, but it's awesome! =)

  24. These are lovely, Henrietta! Sometimes the lack of color enables you to see details more clearly.
